To protect a folder with a password in Windows

• First right click on the folder which is to be set a password.
• A shortcut or context menu will appear.
• Click on Add to Archive option in the menu.

• In Archive name and Parameters Window, click on set password button.

• In Enter Password Window, enter password in two boxes and click on OK button.

• A rar/zip folder will be created like the one given below.

• Delete the earlier folder. Now when you try to extract the files from the rar/zip folder it will ask you a password to enter. So the folder is now password protected.
